In the summer of 1994 two engineering students, Alexander Barth and Ralf Jodl, decided to finance their scooter hobby through sales of scooter accessories and their self-designed specialty parts. What started out as a part time job soon developed into a full time business ...

Since 1989, both Barth and Jodl have designed and built high class tuning parts in limited numbers which were quickly snapped up by friends. Scooter fans cried out for more and the custom part program grew with the demand.

Contact with Italy brought high quality accessories in the program and soon the 35 sq. meter basement shop was overcrowded.

Fall of 1996 found the SIP team occupying larger accomodations in the Landsberg industrial park. SIP Scootershop brings out new mail order catalogs practically every year - doubling the amount of Vespa products available to you the customer.

Soon the SIP team brought out catalogs in english providing scooter customers worldwide service.

1999 brought new dimensions to the SIP Scootershop. Accessories for automatic scooters were added to the delivery program, and once again the team had to enlarge their shop to 1,000 sq. meter, that`s around 9,000 sq. feet! In the meantime, the SIP Scootershop has grown into one of the largest mail order shops for scooter parts and accessories - thanks to our extensive program and a team of 15 highly motivated co-workers, all of whom own and drive at least one scooter. What has the future in store for us?

Our goals are to grow with you, our customers: to give you better prices and to continue our search for those hard to find specialities so we can offer you the wi(l)dest program possible.

And of course, so we can continue to offer you the best possible mail order service - like you're used to getting from internet book shops. Behind all this, we're still the same scooter freaks we always were - we know our products and we know what we're talking about!

2003 we moved to our own new building in the industrial estate of Landsberg. These facilities offer more than 1500 sq. meter for warehouse, showroom and office. 20 people are now working at SIP Scootershop, all dedicated scooterists sharing the passion of old and modern scooters. A perfect infrastructure in the outer Munich area offers us a quick link to the UPS base near to us, making delivery times to the next work day possible to many countries.
